Facts on Hearing Loss in Adults
Hi, I’m Gary Gams. I have recently
opened Salinas Hearing Aid Center. I have been working in the
hearing health care field for over fourteen years. As a hearing aid
user myself I understand the issues surrounding hearing loss. One
in every ten (30 million) Americans has a hearing loss. As baby
boomers reach retirement starting in 2010, this number is expected
to rapidly climb and nearly double by the year 2030. The prevalence
of hearing loss increase with age, up to 1 in 3 over age 65. Most
hearing losses develop over a period of 10 to 30 years. Among
seniors, hearing loss is the third most prevalent, but
treatable disabling condition, behind arthritis and
hypertension.
At Salinas Hearing Center we offer
hearing testing as well as demonstrations of all types of hearing

television and custom molds for all applications.
I understand that unlike many new
things we deal with in life the thought of hearing aids is not
